Michael O. Winters FAIA LEED AP  BD+C

 

Michael O. Winters FAIA formed M.O.Winters Architects in 2024 to provide design consulting services, after serving as Partner, Principal and Director of Design and Interiors at Fentress Architects for many years. Michael was the Lead Designer for Fentress Architects’ largest and most complex projects.

 

Michael’s career portfolio totals over $10 billion and has won over115 design awards, including 5 prestigious 25 year awards from the American Institute of Architects. His projects include the national design competition winning Clark County Government Center, Denver International Airport, the Colorado Convention Center (Phases I, II III), San Jose International Airport, Miami Beach Convention Center,1999 Broadway (43 story high-rise), and North Las Vegas City Hall.

 

Michael is the chair for the Design Review Board at the University of Colorado. The board reviews all design projects at all four of the university’s campuses. He has been a board member for nine years. Prior to joining Fentress Architects, Michael worked at Skidmore Owings & Merrill in Denver for 3 years. He received his Architectural Degree with High Honors from the University of Wisconsin and received his Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Colorado, where he graduated first in his class. Michael was elevated to Fellow in the American Institute of Architects in 2013 for his contributions to architecture for Excellence in Design.
